519 National Standards Take Effect, Including Refrigeration Equipment Safety Standard

On November 1, 2026, 519 national standards took effect, including GB/T 42125.3-2024, Safety Requirements for Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control, and Laboratory Use — Part 3: Particular Requirements for Refrigeration Equipment. Other standards taking effect on the same date relate directly to refrigeration equipment, electrical equipment safety and climatic environmental testing.

For manufacturers, the refrigeration equipment standard is relevant to both product design and production. Its practical implications depend on the equipment covered and the requirements set out in the standard; the announcement alone does not establish which design or production changes a particular product will need.

Companies assessing affected equipment may need to consider the refrigeration-specific requirements alongside other applicable electrical safety and environmental testing standards. The extent of any changes to product design or compliance procedures will depend on the detailed provisions of those standards and their applicability to each product.
