Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) manufacturers have announced another round of price adjustments for October 2026, with increases ranging from 3% to 15%. The adjustments reflect continuing pressure from supply chain costs, raw material prices and tariffs on equipment pricing.
The range matters for buyers: a 3% increase and a 15% increase have substantially different implications for an equipment budget. These figures should not be treated as a uniform increase across HVACR equipment or as an industry average. The effect on an individual purchase will depend on which products are covered and the adjustment applicable to them.
For distributors and contractors, the first potential impact is on the relationship between equipment purchasing costs and customer quotations. If a purchase falls under a higher price schedule while the customer quote remains fixed, the difference could put pressure on the margin available for that order. Projects still being priced may instead face higher equipment allowances, depending on the products specified and the terms of supply.
The announcements indicate that cost pressures continue to influence manufacturers’ pricing decisions. They do not, by themselves, establish how much of each increase will reach customers. Discounts, existing order terms and subsequent pricing decisions could affect the final purchase price.
Further manufacturer notices will be useful for assessing product coverage, effective dates and the treatment of existing orders or quotations. Those details will determine how the announced increases translate into purchasing costs and project budgets.
